A tuition-free public charter school in Saint Paul Park, Minnesota, built on the belief that every K-5 scholar deserves a strong academic foundation and a genuine love of learning.
Horizon Science Academy St. Paul is a tuition-free public charter school serving kindergarten through fifth grade at 920 Holley Avenue in Saint Paul Park, Minnesota. We are part of the Concept Schools network, which has operated high-performing STEM-focused schools across the Midwest for more than 25 years, bringing a proven model and deep experience to our growing community.
Our school carries on a tradition of academic excellence recognized across the Concept Schools network, where campuses are regularly ranked among the top charter schools in their states by U.S. News and World Report. HSA St. Paul is accredited and STEM-certified through Cognia, a nationally recognized accrediting organization, giving families confidence that our program meets rigorous standards.
Today, as a new and growing campus, we are building something special: a school where every child is known by name, every family is a true partner, and every scholar graduates fifth grade prepared and excited for the road ahead. Because we are publicly funded, our full educational program is accessible to eligible Minnesota families without tuition.
Every decision we make, and every classroom interaction we foster, is guided by these foundational principles.
We foster an environment of genuine inquiry, encouraging scholars to ask questions, explore ideas, and discover answers through hands-on investigation and real-world problem-solving.
We hold high standards and expectations in literacy, mathematics, science, and all core subjects, meeting and surpassing state requirements so every scholar grows with confidence and capability.
We strive to create a welcoming, supportive school where scholars are known, families are valued, and every individual matters. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
We equip scholars with the curiosity, collaboration, critical-thinking, and digital skills they need to succeed in high school, college, and a STEM-focused world beyond the classroom.
At HSA St. Paul, our STEM-focused educational model connects learning to real-world questions and hands-on challenges while maintaining a strong foundation in core academics. We meet students where they are and use multiple layers of support to ensure no child is left behind.
Every scholar receives high-quality core instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, and other essential subjects, aligned to state standards and delivered by dedicated licensed educators.
We connect classroom learning to real-world investigations, engineering challenges, and collaborative problem-solving activities that build creativity and critical thinking from an early age.
We use a multi-tiered system of supports, screening all students in reading and math at the start of the year. Students who need extra help receive targeted small-group intervention during the school day, adjusted regularly based on progress.
We communicate early and often, sharing progress throughout the year rather than only at report-card time. Specialists serve students with IEPs and English learners, and families are involved at every step of the support plan.
Our educators are passionate, experienced, and deeply committed to the scholars and families of Saint Paul Park.
Led by Principal Corey Stewart, our leadership team sets the vision for academic excellence, school culture, and family engagement, ensuring every scholar has the support and direction they need to thrive.
Our licensed classroom teachers bring energy, expertise, and genuine care to every lesson. They maintain high expectations, deliver strong core instruction, and build meaningful relationships with every child they serve.
Our specialists work alongside classroom teachers to provide targeted intervention, special education services, and individualized support, making sure every scholar gets the help they need to reach their full potential.
